The Art of Trolling

”You know, you will ruin Hell's reputation if you let the humans see this.”

Dantalion looked up, a bit annoyed, from the screen. Before him stood one of the most beautiful beings there is, draped in light robes. The demon moved gracefully towards him with a slight smile.

”Oh, it's you Sitri.” Dantalion sighed, his face quickly changing into a perfect mirror of the other demon.

”Humans will stop fearing Hell if they knew there is internet here”, continued Sitri with a nod towards the tablet in Dantalion’s lap.

“Well, it's a big difference between what I have and what the dead can have.” He shrugged and turned his attention back to the screen while his face changed again.

“Always so cocky against your superiors.” Sitri made a dramatic gesture and sat down in a chair that quickly formed from the shadows around them. Dantalion liked to keep his room like this, empty with just the ever changing shadows that became whatever he needed. It reflected himself so perfectly.

“I bow before your superiority, my great prince. Your mere presence makes me lose my common sense and your beauty blinds me!” Dantalion bowed deeply before the other demon but then sat back down again and turned the screen on his tablet on again.

Sitri just sighed, but with an amused smile. “What are you doing anyway?”

“Oh, just having a bit of fun.” With yet another face he smirked.

“Do demons really need to watch porn?” asked Sitri sarcastically.

“Not me, I can see everything live anyway.” Dantalion shrugged but then decided that maybe he shouldn't be too cocky against Sitri. The demon was way above him in power after all. “I'm just messing with people online.”

“Really?” The other demon looked slightly interested.

“Yeah. Have you heard of the term trolls or trolling?” After all not all demons cared enough about the humans to keep up with today's technology.

“I guess. I thought it just was people with too much free time or little intellect who did that?”

“Well, I learned that when you can see into all people thoughts like I do, trolling gets so much better.” This time Dantalion chuckled, his face quickly changing between several different people. “I can poke at all their weak spots and they can't do anything about it. It's hilarious.”

Sitri joined his chuckle. “That does sound fun.”

“Right now I'm on this site called 4chan.” He shook his head slightly. “The most amusing thing is how many people jumps on my side. Humans really are terrible creatures.”

“Well, isn't that also your fault then?” asked Sitri.

“Of course.” His face shifted quickly as a cruel grin spread across it. It soon faded however and he looked up at Sitri again. “By the way. I'm sure you didn't just come here to see how I was. Did you want something?”

“Oh, right.” Sitri leaned back in the chair of shadows, looking thoughtful. “I was wondering if you could cover for me for a few days.”

“What?”

“Well, you're the only one that can look like me so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.”

“I just take your face, I'm still shorter and bulkier than you.”

“So what. They will just think I've eaten too much.” Sitri made a dismissing gesture with one hand.

“You never eat”, Dantalion pointed out.

“The bigger reason it will be noticeable when I do eat.”

Dantalion gave up. “What do you want me to do?”

“Just cover for me. Make a few humans here and there fall in love that shouldn't and such. The usual. I'll take care of all the bigger stuff when I come back.”

“Where are you going?”

“That's none of your business.” Sitri stood up and the chair disappeared while the demon stepped towards the door with a fluent movement.

“Whatever you say my prince.” Dantalion sighed and bowed his head after Sitri. He just hoped Sitri wouldn't mess up too bad, whatever he intended to do. It was very peculiar to hear that a demon of that rank deviated from duty.
